Alessandro Lupi
Alessandro Lupi: FLUORESCENT DENSITIES

For his installations, fluorescent densities, as he calls them, Alessandro Lupi is using polyamide micro fiber which he covers in fluorescent paint and/or illuminates them with an ultra violet light. These objects are often three dimensional bodies, both moving and static, involved in a dialogue with the surroundings. Author sometimes incorporates sounds, composed exclusively by Danilo Rolle. In Alessandros's works, the dichotomy of the opposing circumstances (e.g. exterior-interior, freedom-captivity, life-death...) is annulled by the contemporary perception ... as if all of his works relied on an idea of sudden change ... so the observer receives the unexpected.

Alessandro Lupi (1975, Genoa, Italy) graduated in visual arts in Genoa. Light is the basis of his exploration and creation; using lights, photography, video and new media, he creates installations which feature a dynamic fusion of colors, light and space.

Lupi is a highly active exhibitor. In this year alone he already participated in multiple independent and group exhibitions. Since the beginning of the new millennium, his works were presented in international festivals and fairs, in museums and galleries in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Finland, etc.
