Ribja brv footbridge
23. May–18. June 2022
interactive light installation

The installation Current is a peculiar lighting organism, which transforms depending on the movement of people crossing the bridge. Light’s dynamic flow is reflected on Ljubljanica river’s surface, changing this ambient and consequently one’s usual everyday experience of the city. As an interactive project, it also warns passers-by of its presence, which potentially offers a possibility of a different reading and experiencing of the surroundings. This lighting organism is built using TV screens’ optic layers that hide prismatic ridges within its micro-structure. In a dialogue with its light sources, this ridge-like structure breaks and bends light rays, which – in combination with different shapes and textures – ultimately create these imaginary images. /Nika Erjavec/
