LINA RICA: We Are Home
LINA RICA: We Are Home
permanent light installation
Square With No Historical Memory, AKC Metelkova mesto // permanent installation
OPENING: Friday, 30 May, at 9:30 p.m.
This dynamic light installation raises questions about public space, belonging and community, and addresses the idea of pacifism and transnationality. As a site-specific project, the work fits well in the context of the role and importance of Metelkova, as in an era of neoliberal capitalism that privileges capital over people and encourages gentrification, such autonomous zones remain valuable oases of freedom and community. The installation, with its pulsating light, illustrates the adaptability of the very notion of home, which is in a constant process of change. The project acts as a symbol of openness and creativity in a concrete space, simultaneously proving that art not only reflects reality, but also actively co-creates it. /L. Rica/
