NOKS collective: 1×1 Against the Binary

NOKS collective: 1×1 Against the Binary
video projections
Gradaščica Park, under the Barje Bridge // until 20 June
OPENING: Tuesday, 26 May 2026, at 9:30 p.m.

As part of the festival, the Polish collective NOKS is curating a selection of video works by various international artists, which will be screened throughout the festival at a temporary gallery under the Barje bridge, over the Gradaščica River. According to the curator, Wera Morawiec, she has chosen shorter video works that, essentially, oppose any form of singularity and, through their narrative, transcend the established and the immutable. The selection of seven videos, characterised by a diverse use of various syntaxes and perspectives, highlights an essential quality of every human experience: its multifacetedness and extraordinary nuance. The project was realised as part of the international initiative One Night Public Gallery, launched in 2018 by Morawiec and Sochacki with the aim of popularising video art in public spaces.

Participants: Jan Kowal, Anna Ponomarova, Eugenia Gramenou, Hagar Schuringa, Yang Tzu Yi and Jiawen Uffline

WERA MORAWIEC is a curator and psychologist, as well as a co-founder (with Robert Sochacki) of the NOKS collective, which has participated in numerous international media and light art projects, including the Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts.
